Ameer Ali Salman of SARAIKI.org in collaboration with other non profits conducted a capacity building workshop for sustainable agriculture in Basti Ameer Shah, Southern Punjab. 🌱

This training initiative focused on agroforestry, kitchen gardening, and climate-smart farming practices to strengthen resilience among local farmers and households. Conducted in Basti Ameer Shah, the sessions emphasized efficient water use, soil health, and sustainable food production.
Mujeeb Ur Rehman, SDO Forest Department of Punjab Government led the discussion about how agroforestry can build resilience against climate change and negate soil degradation. He also insisted that change comes from within, and encouraged planting trees to build a sustainable future for our children.

Afzal Qureshi, Assistant Director Agriculture (Extension) Department of Punjab Government led the discussion of sustainable ways to use fertilisers. He also gave his insights on which fertiliser to use, when to use and how to use it. Additionally, Mr. Qureshi put light on Government schemes that are empowering farmers of the region.
Ameer Ali Salman told the press how modern and sustainable agricultural practices are important to maximise crop yield and fight soil degradation.

Implemented in collaboration with SMC BNU, SARAIKI.org, Friends Foundation, HANDS Pakistan, and Katadyn Group Switzerland, the program aimed to translate knowledge into practical, locally applicable solutions for farmers and women.
